First 4 Numbers is proud to say that it has worked with the Royal Welsh Agriculture Society to help make the 50th annual Royal Welsh Show at Llanelwedd a huge success.
The show drew its highest ever attendance this year with over 140,000 people attending, beating the previous attendance record by over eight hundred. It was also reported that 1000 overseas visitors attended the event from over 40 different countries.
First 4 Numbers was keen to get involved in the event, and ended up supplying sheep and cattle numbers for the judging competitions.
The Royal Welsh is now considered the largest agricultural show in Europe, and lasts for four days with events including sheep shearing, horse riding, and cattle judging. The show also attracts members of the British Royal Family, in particular The Prince of Wales who is a keen supporter of the farming industry.
The first Royal Welsh Show was held at Aberystwyth in 1904, and changed venue 37 times before finally settling in Llanelwedd in 1963. Since then the show has gone from strength to strength, and each year it generates around £40m.
Without doubt, the shows most famous event is the Welsh Cob Senior Stallions, which is traditionally held on the Wednesday afternoon. Here, around fifty stallions are showcased to an often-packed crowd, which on its own attracts visitors from around the world.
All in all, the Royal Welsh show proves to be a fantastic event for anyone with an interest in agriculture, and is an event First 4 Numbers is proud to supply. Next year we’re sure to be travelling back down to Llanelwedd to see the show, and our products being showcased, firsthand.
